Tim Wilson studied at Paris Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music. He was the Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Philharmonic orchestra and taught for many years at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. His students have won prizes consistently, progressed to prestigious institutions, and held varying notable positions including Principal Flute Hong Zhou Symphony, Faculty in Mexico City Conservatory and University of Hawaii as well as Hong Kong local orchestras.
As a jazz saxophonist, he has appeared in all the major venues in Hong Kong, performed as a soloist in the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra for decades and played throughout East Asia. He made CD recordings of original music with the trio, Han Shan. He currently performs with the Seattle Solid Gold Pacifica Big Band, the Pacific Cascade Big Band and the Woodinville Community Concert Band.
Tim believes that a strong musical foundation is the key to understanding and enjoying the art of musical performance. Lessons are once a week, 30 minutes or 60 minutes depending on the level. Both classical interpretation and jazz improvisation are offered at the Wilsound Music Studio in Woodinville.
